life update from Birmingham

i've more or less settled into student life in a new country! Its pretty great-- except I miss my dog, and had to tolerate some blatant racism.

i wonder whats the etiquette to petting dogs being walked on the street in Birmingham. Every time I fawn over a dog, the owners glare at me. 

or is it the racist pre-conceived notion that all Chinese people eat dog meat? Hopefully not. Oh well.

The weather's great! I like my room, I like walking through town. The rain is fluffy.

I'm pretty happy for now, more or less.
